Noted local artist Susan Kristoferson loves to work with paper and we are pleased to be exhibiting this premiere collection of her paper collages.
Promise is the 'promise of spring' which is one that begins with the prayer of planting-the promise that the plant and flower will emerge, and the promise of flowers which starts with the emergence of plants in a spring garden. The blooming flowers are perfect and beautiful, fragile and transitory but which 'promise' renewal in the next season. Another is the 'promise of parents'--to be ever present, steadfast and to do ones best every day-to try again. Another is the promise of life in which we can appreciate each new moment, each new day as an opportunity for renewal, for creativity, for wonder.
