Well-worn
Heather Brewster
Well-worn
Adj: showing signs of much wear or use [syn: shop-worn, threadbare, timeworn, tired]
These paintings are made on panels of wood that are "well-worn" with cuts, stains and accumulated paint.
They represent the well-worn grooves and ruts that we live in and the many wounds that make up our character. The accumulated stains and spots of paint symbolize the calluses that come from enduring hard work and struggling through the pain.
