Adele Woolsey
Muzungu
Muzungu means "white person" in many Bantu languages of east, central and southern Africa. This body of work explores notions of being the 'other', a stranger in a foreign land, by rendering children's expressive responses to meeting the artist for the first time. This concept developed in response to Adele’s ongoing work in various African countries over the past several years.
