Arts on Atlantic represents regional artists in a broad variety of fine art and craft disciplines.The focus is on the "Local"
Our speciality is the "Book Arts". We showcase handbound, speciality, illustrated, letterpress, fine press and artists' books. We represent Canadian bookbinders, book artists and small press printers.
Vancouver artist, Charles Van Sandwyk is our feature fine press artist. We exhibit his speciality illustrated & limited edition books. A good selection of framed and mounted original hand pulled etchings by Charles van Sandwyk are also available.

Hooray! Arts on Atlantic celebrates its new location by introducing Art(Thurs)Days. Explore ,engage in artist talks, take in literary events, watch demonstrations, attend exhibition openings or just stop in for coffee and treats & browse. Activities commence around 7pm.

Thursday June 24th- Video presentation. Rivers & Tides a journey into the creative mind of artist Andy Goldsworthy. An amazing documentary of a man driven to create in the natural world.
Thursday June 31st - Stephen Murphy demonstrates the ethereal Polaroid image transfer process.
Thursday July 3rd - Local designer and book artist Dirk van Wyk presents a talk on 'Seeing the Book as an Expressive Object.
Thursday July 10th - Video Presentation, 'Miss Potter' An almost documentary look at the worlds most favourite childrens book illustrator and storyteller.
Thursday July 17th - Paul Brown discusses the origins and phenomenon of Artist Trading Cards.

Jan Corcoran-'Horizon(s)' & Grand Reopening

In this premiere Alberta exhibition, Saskatchewan artist Jan Corcoran explores the horizontal & the horizon in this new series of oils & mixed media. Drawing on the seemingly endless vistas and powerful cloud formations witnessed in SK, Jan creates the feeling of alive,open and vibrant landscapes.

In this body of work Calgary Artist Elizabeth Laishley connects the land and the people of Alberta. The people painted as black and white images reside in a colourful depiction of the Alberta landscape.
The gallery is conviently located 5 minutes from downtown Calgary on Calgary's former main street, 9 th Ave, known originally as "Atlantic Avenue". That was the inspiration for gallery's name.
